Hard to believe that season 7 of Heroes Lounge is already heading into it's third week! With a lot of teams having played both rounds, the division tables are slowly taking shape. if you look closely enough (or have watched the many games that have been casted so far) you can already see some teams establishing themselves as favourites to win their respective divisions. On the other hand there's also teams that were struggling so far and are now looking to make a comeback, as it is of course not to late to make it to the top of the standings and get into the playoffs. For this #RIGGED, we will be looking at both categories of teams.
Both Ryzing Gaming and haha lol xD had their first round matches taken away by their opponents in a pretty close 1:2 affair and are currently standing at the bottom looking up. Korlikk, the captain of haha lol xD, managed to gather a group of very strong individual players which will only get better over the course of the season. Even now they already managed to take a map off of a well known Heroes Lounge team, Don Our Fedoras. On the other side we have Ryzing Gaming, who competed in Heroes Lounge as CoopEra Gaming in previous seasons. They lost a coinflip of a game against team Coinflip but still have high hopes for the rest of the season. With the addition of blank as their new solo laner, captain Kragoral is free to focus on shot calling once more, which should help them a lot in their games. They've also managed to grab some points in the Open Division and they think that a top 6 finish in division 1 is a strong possibility for them. So this match could already be a bit of a decider towards which team will be able to reach their goals at the end of the season.
Our highlight match of the week in division 2 features two teams with a perfect 2-0 record so far and it's hard to tell who will remain undefeated as both teams have looked very strong so far. For team Try Hard it is also try again, as they have participated in season 5 of Heroes Lounge. With the addition of CptCaps and Ardenior, formerly of Rising in Pyjamas, and support Praise, their primary goal for this season is to get better and gel as a team, but so far a trip to the playoffs does not seem all that unlikely. Toxic Mushrooms are a new team to Heroes Lounge, but so far it has not shown. Granted, they have benefited from a def-win in week 1, but their showing against Team NoobNoob in week 2, which they have won with a combined kill count of 38-7, gives you a pretty good hint at what this team is capable of. Also it is nice to now have some toxic vegetables in Heroes Lounge in addition to the toxic fruit we already have.
Budgeville Bush Bashers vs. Mercenary Lords
Now if you followed the last season of Heroes Lounge, you'll surely have come across a team called Budgeville Bush Bashers, or Bashville Budge Bushers, or Bushville Bash Budgers, as they are not only known for their very hard to pronounce name, but also for their excellent play. They tore through division 4 with an almost perfect record and finished second in the Heroes Lounge Cup, only losing to what was the single most rigged division 5 team ever in LE GAG (now also division 3, look out for a rematch!). They are showing no signs of slowing down and are sitting at the top of the table with a 2-0 record already. But now they have to face Mercenary Lords and they have so far not looked anything like your average division 3 team. While they might be new to Heroes Lounge, they have won their first two games in such convincing fashion, it's very hard to not see them as early favourites to win the division or at least make the playoffs. At the very least, they will provide a very tough test to the Budgeville Bush Bashers!
On Azure Wings vs. Self Palm Khara
On to division 4, where we have yet another treat of a game coming up when On Azure Wings meet Self Palm Khara. The public outcry was huge when On Azure Wings were not yet mentioned in this series, and captain Celestina and her boys do deserve some attention. They've managed to beat their first round opponents Cupcakes Anonymous in a close and highly contested series and are definitely showing some promise. It looks like their array of high profile coaches has had a positive impact on their play, even though not every member pays close attention to all the instructions that are being given. Self Palm Khara have yet to prove themselves as they got their first win of the season for free, but that gives them the advantage of not being scoutable until having played their second round match. You can expect captain Myrmidon to have already set the tone for this season as their goal for the season can only be a spot in the playoffs!
Earthworm Defence Force vs. CoB Puppies in Shark Tanks
Alright, I'll admit it, the previous division 5 segments in #RIGGED have been more about general aspects of Heroes Lounge than about the actual match, but things are about to change as two of the leading teams go head-to-head. There is not much left to be said about CoB Puppies in Shark Tanks. Most of you know about their Cup heroics, holding up #div5pride and a season later #div4pride and being community darlings ever since. So far it is as if they've never been away at all, beating their first two opponents on their way to yet another Cup appearance. However, they are looking at a very tough task in Earthworm Defence Force. They have looked as good as you can being a new team in Heroes Lounge and they are also undefeated. Rumour has it that they are putting in more time than many of the division 1 teams and their captain Jaldren is a bonafide tactician and relentless researcher of opponents, so better be careful Puppies, or you might not make it out of the Earthworm Tank alive!
