Jun 14, 2017 Amateur League EU Inside Lounge Interview

While the sign-ups for the next season of Heroes Lounge already have opened, we are in the middle of the first rounds of the Heroes Lounge Season 3 Playoffs.

The teams playing in the Heroes Lounge playoffs showed that they are the best teams we have in our amateur league. They already sticked together for a couple of months, and most of them will surely play in Heroes Lounge Season 4 as well.

To prepare you for the next playoff games and the final round at the weekend of 24th and 25th June, we asked the team captains a few quick questions.

Heroes Lounge Season 3 Playoff teams

How was your Heroes Lounge experience this season so far?

Morpheus (Gorge Good Ult): Heroes Lounge was a great experience this season once more, giving our team the chance to gain valuable competitive experience. After having a rocky start with several members not being able to play, we still managed to gain a playoff spot with the addition of Galnegunnar as support and Baroq in the melee role. Only critic points are the cast...jk, then we are still not allowed to spray BabyRage.

Patsku (Ponies With No Tricks): It's been great! The Lounge has become a lot more popular and competitive, which forces the players to become better and the scene just keeps on growing in both quality and quantity.

Royalthoil (Trust Issues): It was pretty cool!

Ricky656 (Ley Lined Seals): It's been pretty challenging, and a lot of fun. It's really cool to have this competitive league to practice for and enjoy as Amateurs.

Owen23 (Team TFT): Super fun, last Season!

FireFox (Bananas): It was nice overall, almost all the team captains were extremely friendly and it was a great experience

Phabyum (Estoril eSports): The Heroes Lounge experience so far has been amazing! We definitely have been enjoying it fully, from our first game in March, to this very day. Great mod team, outstanding casting team, which we’ve been blessed to have on our games, and overall great competitive spirit between teams!

Undead (FAT #5): It was great, felt like the matchmaking was much better this season.

Rozmex (thinking): Heroes lounge, is amazing this season, didn’t have problem with anything.

cmr (Nightmare): Bad, because we are prepared for div1 but they didn’t let us join (We won almost all in div 2, so boring).

Celtic (Dropkick Murkys): Our personal experience couldn't be better. We played a regular season with perfect statistics. We are all in all very, very happy. We also love the change to the swiss system. It makes it much more competitive and especially in the end of the season there was a lot of exciting and close matches for all the teams.

Dakbar (CooperaGaming): Well, first of, we had an overall great experience for our first season of Heroes Lounge and will definitely play again the next season. We heard that this season was a new system so we were sceptic about how it would work out but in the end it was fine. Though there is something that bothered us, because a few teams went inactive the statistics went false in our opinion. But we also heard it was a lot worse lase season so i guess if you can continue to improve that it should all be just fine :)

nTla (Always Wu): So far, we had fun in our Heroes Lounge matches and good preparation for the playoffs.

UwImFabulous (Boosted Bonobos): Great! My team unleashed their full grief potential and tried to make the games as hard as possible for me to win.

ptfury (We Are Not Prepared):  Quite fun actually, in my case it was the first time ever playing in a team, met some cool people, and really hope to come back next season. It was an amazing experience. The lounge team sure has done a really good work.

What do you think are the best teams in the Playoffs?

Morpheus (Gorge Good Ult): The best team for sure is TFT. Only div1 without a loss, and keeping their good form over several weeks, this will be the team to beat. Strong contestants for the finals will be thinking, Fat5 and Swish Family in my opinion.

Patsku (Ponies With No Tricks):  , team TFT, GGU and fat #5 are all really good. If we played our A-game every time out, I strongly believe we might be in this conversation as well. Hopefully we can prove that in the playoffs

Royalthoil (Trust Issues): I have no idea. probably my team, no clue :)

Ricky656 (Ley Lined Seals): I think it's fair to say Team TFT,, and FAT #5 look like the best; but I'm keeping my eye out for any upsets from the lower seeds, that'd be really cool.

Owen23 (Team TFT): I guess that should be my Team, thinking and Fat#5. If we have enough time to prepare i think we will have a good shot in winning this season.

FireFox (Bananas): Either thinking or fat5

Phabyum (Estoril eSports): Well, I have seen some Division 1 games, but not enough to be able to answer that with precision. Although, what I can say is.. I expect some upsets! Division 2 teams might surprise you!

Undead (FAT #5): FAT #5.......TFT, Thinking and GGU

Rozmex (thinking): Best team in playoffs are probably imo we () GGU, TFT.

cmr (Nightmare): No idea; Maybe us (joking obviously).

Celtic (Dropkick Murkys): I think the best teams in the playoffs are obviously the top 3 - 4 from div 1. Also, top teams from div 2 are probably a secret for playoff win. The other teams especially from div 3,4 and 5 won't stand a chance, but everything is possible.

Dakbar (CooperaGaming): well for the best Teams i think it you can just take the top 3 spots ... if I dare say so but our team is really strong ad well we improved a lot the last few weeks after changing the set up a bit and we already went 1:2 vs thinking in the first round this season so I do think we have the ability to aim for the higher spots as well :)

nTla (Always Wu): Well, Always Wu of course!

UwImFabulous (Boosted Bonobos): It's surely myinsanty! They had a lot of pressure since everyone expected them to perform on a very high level but in the end they did the best they could.

ptfury (We Are Not Prepared): Haven't seen enough games to precise this, most teams from Division 1 look really strong, so quite curious about the outcome.

Is there any outstanding player or players who impressed you this season?

Morpheus (Gorge Good Ult): To be honest, the player that impressed me the most this season is from my team with Baroq. Not having any competitive experience before, we took a small risk in picking him up. But he is maybe one of the most mechanical gifted players, that I had the pleasure to play with.

Patsku (Ponies With No Tricks): Cenric, he hasn't overslept this season :pogsloth: (and he's a really great player too).

Royalthoil (Trust Issues): I did not watch anything, sorry.

Ricky656 (Ley Lined Seals): The players of Trust Issues probably impressed me the most, after they destroyed us in one of the early rounds of the league - the skill of players can be a lot clearer when they're using it against you ^_^

Owen23 (Team TFT): I am really impressed in how on point bangsi is already, he quit the game in late beta and came back at the start of the season and he plays like he never quit.

FireFox (Bananas): Phabyum from Estoril Esports for sure

Phabyum (Estoril eSports): In a game like heroes, Teams should be the ones highlighted! But, to answer your question, yeah, Jydro, the support player from Estoril eSports impressed me! :)

Undead (FAT #5): Galnefunnar with his 100% winrate on Arthas.

Rozmex (thinking): For me Baroq from GGU is probably best melee flex player in heroes lounge.

cmr (Nightmare): Myself

Celtic (Dropkick Murkys): I must admit I mostly followed division 5 and haven’t watched too much from the other divisions. In our team, there was no outstanding player all 6 did a great job. Our Shotcaller did some great calls, our tanks were mostly in good positions to engage and our heal was on point. But to be honest this season Deported did an awesome job. They played an awesome season and always forced us to take each game very seriously.

Dakbar (CooperaGaming): For Players, I cannot really say for sure, all the Teams that got into the playoffs did it together as a team, there probably were a few really nice plays from specifically one player but we cannot name anyone.

nTla (Always Wu): A X E L H L

UwImFabulous (Boosted Bonobos): If I had to pick someone I would probably pick TheCaptain aka TheFeeder. I wasn't aware that 1 person can be that impactful on the game. I mean he made it really hard for us to win, but he was impactful! Honorable Mention goes out to Florre aswell!

ptfury (We Are Not Prepared): Some of the team captains I played against did impress me with their positive attitude, and I hope one day we can 'fight' again. Skill-wise, I'd say Estoril eSports is doing pretty well. We've had te pleasure to scrim against them, and they're pretty solid.

Do you want to share any shoutouts?

Morpheus (Gorge Good Ult): Shoutouts to my team for all the commitment they had this season, sadly we need to play with a sub during the playoffs, but hopefully we can still produce some good games. Also, obviously shoutout to all the mods, casters and the rest of the staff of Heroes Lounge, its awesome to see so much passion all gathered in one discord. GL HF and see you, in the NEXUS

Patsku (Ponies With No Tricks):  -

Royalthoil (Trust Issues): No

Ricky656 (Ley Lined Seals): Shoutout to our newly formed sister-team "Apocalypse, Now?", who should be joining the next season of Heroes Lounge!

Owen23 (Team TFT): Shoutouts to my Team for sure, we are not playing together for long and we had some roster changes, but they are such good players that it doesn’t even matter and we are always on point!

FireFox (Bananas): A shoutout to my Bananas team, to Estoril Esports and to the whole Heroes Lounge team.

Phabyum (Estoril eSports): Shoutouts to my team! 6 teammates I couldn't live without. Shoutouts to Estoril eSports, for all the support and motivation that's been given to us. To the Heroes Lounge community and organization which made all of this possible. And last but not least, to all the Portuguese Community for being with us, rooting, shouting every single game! Thank you. In behalf of the whole team, thank you.

Undead (FAT #5): the people who subbed for us, cake and deathknight for being our sub during playoffs Kappa

Rozmex (thinking): shoutouts to my team getting second seed for playoffs, and to GGU which introduced me into heroes lounge when I was part of GGU team last season.

cmr (Nightmare): Cosmic, the unique admin that helped us, he is very formal, very quick, all my team love him <3, thanks to his help

Celtic (Dropkick Murkys): Thanks to all who make Heroes Lounge possible. The casters, the devs, the mods and all the people who helped out. Thanks to all our opponents it was fun. Shotouts to the teams we face in playoffs. We are ready.... :)

Dakbar (CooperaGaming): well shoutouts to our Clan, the whole Team and also to our opponents to have really nice and challenging games

nTla (Always Wu): WUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

UwImFabulous (Boosted Bonobos): Shoutouts to UwImFabulous for being the illest! You can find him on twitter and twitch under: uw_im_fabulous !

ptfury (We Are Not Prepared): My team, especially Isao for putting us together. Fones from Chirand for waiting an extra half an hour so we could have a full team ( they could've won by default if wanted ). And last but not least, the biggest shout-out I can give, goes to Pixie, she subbed for us in occasions where we wouldn't be able to play otherwise, thus allowing the team to advance.

A big thanks to the team captains for their time and we hope that you enjoyed the InsideLounge for today. If you have any kind of feedback, suggestion or criticism, that can always be directed at us through our Discord, or via Twitter or Facebook

Unfortunately, we could not get any response from  The Swissh Family in time. We will update that post as soon as we received them.
