Dropkick Murkys managed an impressive feat of not dropping a single map entire season in division 5, and we managed to get caught up with them to figure out which came first; Murky or the Egg?
Hello Dropkick Murkys, would you like to introduce yourselves to our readers here?
Hey everyone. We are 6 people from Germany playing Heroes as a team for nearly one year. First there is Celtic, formerly Rage, the captain of the team. He is the man who schedules all our matches, scrims and does simply all the team’s organisation. Plays every class!
Next there is SneakyTurtle, Celtic’s brother. He is our main tank of the team, well better say ETC of the team because it feels like he hasn’t played any other hero. :D Mostly known for perfect moshpits!
Third member is Galiatus, another flex player of the team. Loves to play the heroes no one else wants or is able to play (Abathur, Medivh and Chen).
Then there is Nelenthara or in the words of some caster we don’t want to name “the guy with the long name”. He is of course another flex player, shot caller and drafter.
Fifth guy in the team is Wodan. A fle.... Just kidding, the support of the team! Or shall we say flex support? He’s known for his tank Uther and damage Malfurion! Not sure if he has ever played another class...
Last there is Vaelo. Guess what he is.... Right another flex..., but focus on specialists and bruiser. he has some kind of ritual (rite) to be done on match days (more information below).
Congratulations for having such a successful season and being undefeated, not even dropping a single map. Thoughts on your success?
We are very happy to having achieved this somewhat special success of being the only undefeated team. At the start of the season we definitely had much smaller goals in mind so you can imagine that we are quite surprised with ourselves.
What is the secret to your success?
It’s the basics. Coordination, communication and a basic understanding of all the maps and heroes. We work good as a team and take every match serious. Also a healthy meal consisting of “Fleischsalat” and a pint of Guinness can help a little. ;)
Sources tell me that you also participated last season under a different banner. How different is it this season compared to last season?
Last season we played under the name of FSN with an additional sup in your ranks and it could not have been more different to this season. We lost every single map. It was an embarrassment. We are glad that we could redeem ourselves this season.
You’re likely facing the top seed of division 1 coming into the playoffs. How’re you guys feeling about it?
It is definitely a great challenge to us but we will do everything to not getting stomped that easily. The whole team is pumped to play the top seed and maybe we will show them that division five is more than just the “pleboffs”.
Heroes Lounge is about to introduce promotion and demotion on a voluntary basis going into season 4. Assuming that you’re staying for season 4; will you be taking on the offer to move into division 4?
Of course we will stay for season four and we are gladly taking the offer to be promoted to division four. It seems that some of our top opponents are coming with us and we are up to the challenge.
How hard does Murky’s dropkick hit?
Well, if you take a look on the division five standings you’ll sure get that answered. ;)
Will you be running any secret Murky strats in the playoffs?
If I’d tell you that right now, they would not be secret anymore, wouldn’t they?
