(Barely monthly) Weekly Recap back after hiatus

Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back to the weekly recap! Apologies for the break, but we are back and ready for playoffs!

There has been a ton of amazing games since the last recap, but if you missed out on all the hot HotS (heh) action, then have no fear, for we are now hitting the most exciting point of the regular season; seeing who will make the playoffs themselves!

Let’s look at the rankings and see just who is in contention for those playoff spots.

Division 1

Currently 1st place is being held by , who achieved a monumental feat last Sunday of not only giving  Season 2 Champion FAT #5 their first loss, but also beating early favourites The Swissh Family in the same day. This has put  as the new favourites to win the division, although everyone will be looking to see what FAT #5 can do after their first loss

Looking down the table we have Team TFT in 3rd place whom are the only other team with just 1 loss in the division, and will face a tough test in their next match against , which is yet to be scheduled.

Currently on a 2 game losing streak, early division leaders Always Wu will be looking to bounce back today against 7th place Season 1 Champion Ponies With No Tricks. The Ponies will also be looking to get back on track after losing to 4th place Gorge Good Ult recently.

Division 2

Division 2 is currently looking very close for those top 4 playoff spots, with both Nightmare and Estoril eSports sporting a very nice 6-1 record.  Estoril however did manage to hand Nightmare their first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory over their rivals.

In 3rd place Boosted Bonobos will have a tough task for their next match against the second most rigged team in the lounge, 8th place Don Our Fedoras. DOF must win this game to have any chance of making playoffs, and the Bonobos will be hoping to boost their own chances with a win (if they get to pick the right side of course) and will likely fancy their chances after beating 6th placed StarBoys: A New Hope.

And incase you missed it, an interesting Towers of Doom boss fight from Bonobos the week previous.

3rd placed Bannanas will look to further secure their playoff position with a matchup against Lethal Grillfriends, which is currently scheduled to be played today.

Division 3

Moving on to Division 3, Trust Issues currently occupies the number 1 spot having gotten their 6th & 7th wins of the season with 2-0 victories over both 4th placed Team Solid and 7th placed Crocodocs. 2nd placed RPV can move equal on wins with them if they successfully beat the team with the best logo this season, Ley Lined Seals, and will be feeling strong after winning a tough game against known sloth terrorists, 6th placed Freedom for Slothville.

30 Seconds To Mosh proved their Nazeebo is too strong in an excellent victory against Leipzig eSports, and will be looking to put themselves in the playoff picture with a matchup they will be heavy favourites in, against Senpais Groups who currently reside in 17th place.

Division 4

Division 4 is looking interesting as We are Not Prepared is one of only 2 unbeaten teams left in the lounge, and will be favourites to take 1st place. OrderofGul’Dan is close behind them however, having beaten 4th placed Wisdom comes, and will be looking to beat 8th placed Alt und adipos to keep their division 4 champions dream alive.

In 3rd place, MILFits earnt a good 2-0 victory against 5th placed Informatik, and will look to get another win against 12th placed Proudmoore today.

Division 5

In Division 5 Dropkick Murkys managed to continue their impressive run of not dropping a map all season, as they bested 3rd placed Four and a half men in a 2-0 victory. The will look to continue their great form today when they take on 5th placed CoB Antimeta.

In second place, Deported Support beat 14th placed Protect Ya nexus in a great 3 game series, which featured a 10% core victory for .depo. They will look to secure their hold on 2nd place and keep the pressure on Dropkick when they go up against 4th placed Fat #10 today.

Promotions/Demotions

As mentioned at the start of the season, the goal for this season was to create some consistency within the divisions, and as opposed to re-seeding teams each season, allow teams to earn their way up and down the ranks with a promotion/demotion based system for those that stick around for multiple seasons. This allows teams whose average mmr is not quite matched by their performance in Heroes Lounge to ensure they are placed in the correct division for them.

In light of this, we are pleased to announce that the top 3 teams in Divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be offered promotion this season, and the bottom 3 teams in Divisions 1, 2 ,3 and 4 will be offered demotion. This is optional to the teams, so there is some flexibility being offered for teams who feel their circumstances require.

The rules regarding what requires a team to be re-seeded have yet to be finalised, but expect to see more information on this soon.

Team Shirts

As with the previous seasons, we are happy to be offering a wide variety of merchandise options for anyone who wants some. These are customised to your specifications, and we have a wide array of options including t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, mugs and much more. If you are interesting or need any more information regarding this, please message Robb on Discord.
