Weekly Recap is actually weekly for once!

It is heating up ladies and gentlemen, and I am not referring to the horrendous heat wave that I am currently suffering through! We have had another spicy week of HotS action with some big upsets, clown fiestas and a whole lot of teams getting closer to claiming those coveted playoff spots.

Division 1

Division 1 has 8 places for playoffs this season, and there is a lot of competition for them.

The biggest news has to be the upset that happened when Team TFT managed to climb to 1st  place by beating now 3rd placed . TFT are a great team in their own right, and have had an amazing season, but after  performance last week the result was a bit of a surprise to some! The series ended with a great core race that TFT ultimately won.

In today’s top game, we have 2nd placed FAT#5 taking on 5th placed The Swissh Familly, and if FAT#5 manage to win they will re-secure their place in the top spot of Div 1.

Division 2

Division 2 has 4 places for the playoffs this season, and it is looking very close for those places also!

5th placed Boosted Bonobos hurt their chances of making the playoffs when they lost to 8th placed Don Our Fedoras, and made the fatal mistake of allowing known Zarya God Ruini to get a game on her! Boosted Bonobos now must win their final game against 7th placed Lethal Grillfriends, and hope for other results in the division to go their way also.

2nd placed Bananas were able to get back on track after their loss to 1st placed Nightmare by getting a win over 9th placed Blame Timmey, which will be enough ensure they finish in the top 4.

Estoril eSports will have the chance to secure 1st place if they win their remaining 2 games over Lethal Grillfriends and 6th placed Throw Inc. Estoril would then at worst finish equal on wins with Nightmare, but will have the advantage of having won the head to head vs them.

Division 3

Division 3 has 2 places for playoffs this season, and at this point there is a lot of teams still able to finish in those positions.

One of the teams who likely will not be making the playoffs after this week’s performance, is known sloth terrorists 10th placed Freedom For Slothville, who made the critical error of allowing GM sub for hire Galnegunnar play for 5th placed Team Solid. This game was not without controversy however, as there was some agreement put into place for what heroes Galne would be allowed to play, that was apparently broken in the final game when Galne played on Zeratul. Regardless of this, the win goes in the books for Team Solid (despite an epic core throw in game 2).

2nd placed RPV continued their decline this week with a close loss to 3rd placed Ley Lined Seals, and will be hoping to secure their playoff spot against 4th placed 30 Seconds to Mosh. Mosh have been on the rise after their victory against 19th placed Senpairs Groupies, and have had a morale boost after the return of mascot ShadowMoon (formerly known as Alex/Fake Alex).

Division 4

Division 4 has 1 playoff place, that has been secured by 1st placed We are Not Prepared with a victory over 6th placed Chirand. WANP have managed the impressive feat of not losing a single game this season, only dropping a single map in the process!

Credit must go out to OrderofGul’Dan who managed to achieved 2nd place for the season, they kept the pressure on WANP this week by winning both against 3rd placed MILFits and 13th placed Alt und adipos.

Division 5

In an unsurprising turn of events, 1st placed Dropkick Murkys has secured Division 5’s single playoff spot. However, they have done so in rather spectacular fashion, as the only team in the entire lounge to not lose a single map. They secured their last win of the season with a 2-0 victory over 9th placed FAT#10, and all eyes will be on DM to see what they do next season in Division 4.

4th placed Running into a knife had a great game with 18th placed 5 For Silver, with 5FS surprising people by taking the first map off RiaK, but ultimately it ended with a 2-1 victory for RiaK.

BKB Coaching giveaway winner

The draw for our hotly anticipated competition to win coaching time with pro player BKB was drawn this week, with the winner being Galnegunnar! As a grand master player, he was obviously in need of the coach more than most, much to Twitch chats delight.

New(ish) Community made podcast – Slothcast

A group of Heroes Lounge players have been doing excellent work in the last month, creating a brand-new Heroes of the Storm podcast, called “Slothcast”. It has been extremely well received by community, and has a rapidly growing audience due to its great features and awful jokes. If you are interested in checking it out, I suggest going to their YouTube channel and checking it out!

Also keep an eye out for more exciting news coming very soon with regards to further co-operation between Heroes Lounge and Slothcast!

In Memoriam – Agents007

On a sadder note, Lounge favourites Agents007 dropped the dreaded twitlonger this week, announcing that this season would be their final season in Heroes Lounge as a team, due to roster issues.

When asked for comment, Head Agent and captain, Froge had this to say:

“As a result of multiple self-deportations, Agents007 are finally disbanding. With most of the original roster gone and faced with having to find multiple replacements, we've instead chosen to all go our separate ways. Some of us may return to play in other teams, but for now we rely on the rest of the Lounge, especially Team Plasma and Potatoes007 to carry our legacy of clown. It's been fun.”

Rumours are abound that Froge has already been signed by a new team, and we shall be keeping an eye out to see where any remaining agents decide to go.

On a more personal note, I will say my first memories of joining the lounge (other than being berated by RikkiMod) was chatting with members of Agents007. They made the lounge feel welcoming to a new player, and honestly are a large part of why I stuck around in those early days. I wish them all the best in their new teams, and hope that as many of them stick around as possible.
