Dec 23, 2016 Amateur League EU Inside Lounge Interview

What would Heroes Lounge be without memes? A brutish, savage, and barbaric bunch of sloths which would only be taunting each other over the games in Heroes Lounge. One cannot imagine how bad things would have gone during season 1 without them and now in season 2. Viewers in the twitch channel would only be gambling with their revlo points in the time between insults or humiliations for the teams playing - well, if there would have been any viewers. Mercifully, we are not like this. We are better than this. And a lot of that is thanks to the master of memes - the Agents007.

You are one of the oldest and most visible teams in Heroes Lounge. Besides actually participating in the games, you are involved also in much of the backstage stuff going on. Would you like to introduce you and your players to the readers?

Hello, we are Agents007, undisputed meme champions in Season 1 of Heroes Lounge. We formed sometimes in spring 2016 and since then our mission is to spread memes around the Heroes of the Storm European amateur scene. Our roster is made of 7 members because you know… 0 0 7.

Dawntree: Hi, my name is Alberto (RL name DawnsGame), I’m an old Italian dinosaur (with some Australian blood in my veins) close to fossilization who enjoys “missing” healing ults on my team (so I can watch them die and laugh with mic muted Kappa). Since they can’t play with Malf bot, they elected me at the Healbot position. Beside that my role in the team is to insult QuinteX and remind the World that Froge feeds regularly and inconveniently. When I’m not missing skillshots in HotS my passions are skiing, hiking and landscape photography. I also just got in charge of producing YouTube VoDs for Heroes Lounge to kill my free time even more.

Froge: Hello, I’m Froge (a.k.a. Vasemmasti/two other nicknames just to tilt people), the Finnish tank player, main shotcaller, drafter and top feeder for Agents007. I specialize in coming up with dank new strats for us to fail at. Also because QuinteX is lazy I’m captain now as well. I am renowned throughout the lounge for missing skillshots (especially Stormbolt) and dying in stupid ways. Sometimes I cast.

Narsha: Hello ladies, gentlemen and transsexuals! I’m a Norwegian Columbian aka Norwumbian by the name of Filip Mauricio but mostly go by Narsha, and I play Sylvanas for Agents007! I’m the face of the team ‘cause of my good looks and charismatic personality, and hope to one day add some extra heroes to my hero pool to help the team out. I excel at making Tassadar look hard to play… brb have to ask gf for permission to write more. Edit: permission denied.

Ciabatta: Hey everyone, this is Ciabatta (another Italian DansGame). I enjoy looking at the score screen and noticing that my numbers are bigger than other people’s numbers. Not the most active player in the team because of, eww, real life, but i make sure to always follow my motto: always push the buttons. Never give up before having pushed all of your buttons. Note: This is why i’m always OOM. No, seriously, i go OOM on Raynor, and I always take the Q quest on Muradin level 1 just so I have an excuse to spam Qs all day.

QuinteX: Hi my name is James Baker (RL name James Baker, 100% Lithuanian name), I’m the baby of the team BabyRage. My job is getting flamed and blamed for just about everything that can’t be blamed on Froge’s feeding and I mostly play both melee and ranged assassins because someone needs to carry the team Kappa. When I am not making plays, I am making massive mistakes that should never happen, such as canceling void prison when an enemy Jaina puts ring of frost under it NotLikeThis. Outside of the games themselves my job is memeing in discord and annoying my team.

Pördy: I’m the Swedish roleplayer of the agents. Brrrrrrrrrrah, Cheers luv, Rehgar noises and all that, constantly tilting everyone that can hear me. Flaming my teammates mechanics is another thing I do even though I have none myself (don’t tell them please Kappa). I’m the reason we didn’t manage to pull off the Aba-TLV strat last season because pressing R is hard.

Sovs: Hello, I am Sovs, the Danish flex. Even though my name means sauce/gravy, I don’t like feeding and have a 100 % win rate except for when I lose or lagf. I have been an Agent since the very beginning, although mostly as an external sub during Heroes Lounge Season 1.

How did you find together and decided to play in Heroes Lounge?

Most of us are regulars at Cris’ discord, and we pretty much started playing Team League together early 2016. Shortly after that, we decided to officially form a team and grief tournaments, and we named ourselves after a certain player (definitely NOT Froge Kappa no Kappa) fed to the tune of 0 kills and 7 deaths in a game (some filthy liars like to embellish the story by also claiming it was 0 assists). We found out about Heroes Lounge probably from reddit, and decided we could play there. The rest is history.

An old wise man once said: Agents are everywhere! And even Khaldor recognized you guys when he casted your first game against Throw Inc. as his Followers. How much time do you spend in general for Heroes of the Storm? When do you guys sleep?

Actually, the first historic Heroes Lounge cast by Khaldor featured us in a hard fought battle (aka clownfiesta) against a F.A.T. of Division 4 in season 1. We won because we clowned better. Sadly no VoD available because Khaldor’s internet ripped 4 minutes before the end of the match. Beside that, time spent on the game varies from player to player, we usually play 2-3 times a week together as 5, then we spend the rest of the time LULing at other players HL losses or just spamming OSsloth in discord. Sleep is for the weak and Epixors during the day.

If I remember correctly, you ended Season 1 in Heroes Lounge on the fourth place of Division 4 with 7 wins to 4 losses. How would you review the first Season in general and the development of your own play?

Season 1 had a lot of issues with inactive teams, and some of those matches were free wins caused by the opposing teams no longer existing. In real terms, we went more like 50/50. At least some of our losses were caused by drafting comps that worked in theory but that we didn’t have the practice or synergy to execute and we clowned as a result. As the season progressed we became more familiar with our own comfort zone as a team and what comps we can execute properly. Still, that balance can be hard since drafting comfort can fail you if your comfort gets countered. I’d say as individual players we’ve all gotten better (except Dawntree who is permanently Silver DansGame), even if our synergy has floundered at times.

In Round 8 of Season 1 you won convincingly 2-0 against Balance of Interest who are going to be your next opponent in Season 2. Do you think you guys are going to defeat them again?

Agents have historically done well against Balance. We faced them in season 1, and we also scrimmed against them before the playoffs. Some of us also ran into them in the 2v2 tournament, and once again we won (Li Li OpieOP). So basically, we have yet to lose once against BoI players, and we aren’t about to start. They’ve changed 2 players of their roster, but I think if we don’t clown unusually hard and draft properly, we can take the win. Plus one of their members was subbing for Fast Transition and lost 2-0 to our clowner sister team, Potatoes007.

How serious are you about Heroes Lounge? Are you tilted, when you lose games?

Ubertilted. After the game we start DansGame-ing Froge for his feeds, Ciabatta for his Li Ming W build, Narsha for being one trick pony, Pördy and Sovs for playing too many heroes and not being good at any, QuinteX because he cannot distinguish between teammates and opponents and of course most of all Dawntree because he’s Silver and he missed 90% of his skills. At the end of the day, the games are supposed to be fun, and we avoid being negative about each other’s play. We don’t get a lot of practice time because everyone has different schedules, so we usually just show up and play. Tilt has been a factor, but it tends to manifest itself as uncertainty about our own abilities, indecision, and overly passive play. But we do know that the only solution is to just shrug off the loss, and play better next game (read: feed more). To untilt, we go in UD or QM playing off-meta heroes hoping to annoy our teammates in comms. Word of advice: if you happen to play UD with Froge, ban Gazlowe. You may thank me later.

What do you think are your chances of turning out on top of Division 2?

Having already lost a set in fairly convincing fashion to one of the stronger teams in the division, fed too much in the second Bo3 and after having scrimmed others, we think finishing number 1 will be hard. However we do intend to try our best to finish as high as possible and we are determined to work hard to beat some of the other teams in our division (feeding may apply Jebaited).

Are there any teams we should look out for in your opinion which are playing particularly well?

Surely NOT Don Our Feedoras or Feed Solid. We might say Throw Inc. are good enough even after we kindly let them win stomp us in the first series of the season because we positive players Kappa no Kappa. Also CrocoDocs should be strong contenders for top spot.

What is your Heroes Lounge moment? One moment which belongs to Heroes Lounge and you will never forget.

During season 1 we had a couple of 5 men mosh pits Kreygasm, one even featured in the second Heroes Lounge highlights. Also, game 2 of that series Khaldor casted and was never uploaded. The boss attempts. The finale. You should have heard our voice chat. Khaldor, if you’re reading this please upload that game (4th of August I think) <3 Lest we forget: PraiseBe

In Season 1 you were the uncontested master of memes. However, time’s changing and with Team Solid, Don Our Fedoras, and Potatoes007 there are many new contester for the spot of the “Master of Memes” coming out of the darkness. Are you already afraid? Is there a rivalry? Or are all of you going to fuse together and meme stronger than ever?

The meme throne is ours, Team Solid and Don Our Fedoras are pretenders. Our memes were the first and they will also be the last PogChamp. Potato memes are basically a subset of Agent memes so those are fine too SeemsGood

Are you satisfied with how things are going at Heroes Lounge or is there anything you would like to have/change?

The quantity of memes has steadily increased between season 1 and 2 Kreygasm, and a lot of new memers are joining our ranks PogChamp, that’s definitely good for the league. There is however much to improve in terms of quality of memes DansGame, that is certain, but hopefully with time we should see better results Jebaited. Oh yeah, there are also games organised by good people, new site etc, which we guess it’s good for making more people joining the meme fiesta.

Any shoutouts or advertisement you want to share?

Shoutout to Cosmic for creating this league, all the casters, mods and people who ping Rikki in Discord without a good reason Kappa. Shoutout also to Cris crisHiYo, since his discord is where the team has formed and a few of us are subs on his twitch channel, and shout out to some of his regular viewers that follow (and meme) us when we play.

Thanks to Ciabatta, Dawntree, Froge, Narsha, Pördy, QuinteX, and Sovs for the time. If you liked what you just read, make sure to leave him a Follow on twitter. Any feedback or suggestions for what's next on Inside Lounge? Contact us within the Heroes Lounge Discord or via Twitter or Facebook.
