Round 1 in Heroes Lounge Season 3

Welcome everybody to Heroes Lounge Season 3! After the matchmaking has run for the first time one week ago, we are also back for you with a new Heroes Lounge Weekly Recap. As we have already written in the Welcome blog post last week, there are many new players and teams who have signed up for the third season of our amateur league for Heroes of the Storm in Europe.

Many new players and teams means also many guys who are still not that familiar with the rules, the scheduling, the communication, and other processes in Heroes Lounge. In addition, free agent teams still have to find together and plan their common schedule and some of them maybe still haven’t assigned one player to the captain role of the team.

These might be reasons why we still haven’t seen a huge portion of the matches played during the last week. However, similar to last season, Sunday appears to be again the day of the week which is most suitable for a lot of players but we’ll come to this in a second. First, let us have a look on the games which were already played and how the standings in the divisions are.

Division 1

In Division 1, we only have two matches played so far but both of them weren't stomps but quite close. On Tuesday, when the first matches were played, Season 2 team Blame The Healer had to face Love in their first match-up and lost the series 1-2. Two days ago, on Friday, defeated Core Gamer HotS Team A also in a 2-1 series. While Core Gamer HotS Team A is a new team in Heroes Lounge, partly consists of former players of Kr bronze tier and Gorge good Ult.

Today, we will have a lot of other matches in the highest skill division of Heroes Lounge. mYinsanity will meet the birth-control boys of Natus Dominari, Kendric Swissh’ team The Swissh Family will play against Gaming in the Rhythm, and last season’s winner FAT #5 will face the new team Hook ‘n Roll. Kendric already announced earlier that he is going to stream the game from his perspective on his channel on twitch.

If you want to see the observer view than tune in on our channel where we will have you covered. For those who haven’t read it so far, this week we also published an InsideLounge article featuring FAT #5.

Division 2

Only three matches so far were played in Division 2 of Heroes Lounge Season 3. In addition, Boosted Bonobos take their series by default. However, the matches played had some surprises for us.

Balance of Interest who struggled last season in Division 2 managed to take down Throw Inc., the team who surprised all the viewers of the Heroes Lounge Season 2 – Playoffs with their incredible performance. Moreover, the new team Falstad Air Travel defeated the veterans of Don Our Fedoras 2-0 and pushed their equilibrium of “Meme-ing” and “button-pressing” out of balance.

On Thursday, the match between the newcomers of Blame Timmey and Nx Gaming was decided 2-1 in favor of Blame Timmey.

Division 3

Division 3 of Heroes Lounge was the most active one throughout the week. In total eight games of this division’s match-ups were already played and some other will follow by today. In the first series of Heroes Lounge Season 3, the Agents007, who promised that they will have the next season, lost 0-2 against Golden Poulay, a team who joined Heroes Lounge Season 2 not before the last round.

One of the best teams of Division 3 in Heroes Lounge Season 2 – Stormstout Brewery – won against YES SIR! and the two sister teams Team Solid and Team Plasma could also take their series against CrocoDocs and NX Gaming 2.0 with 2-1 and 2-0, respectively. Moreover, 30 Seconds to Mosh have taken down the Finnish guys of the iNsiders with 2-0 and RPV won against Slo-mo-gamers – also with a 2-0. The match-up between Ley Lined Seals and The Cartvans was closer, but The Cartvans achieved to decide the series with a 2-1 in their favor.

Magdeburg eSports on the other side had to take the win by default due to inactivity of their opponent and will have to wait until next week for their first game to be played.

Division 4

In Division 4, we had until Friday three 2-0's by Team Arsem!, Informatik, and Teamism against Baewatch, MEDIOCRIS – two teams of Heroes Lounge Season 2 – and Ancestral Peeling. Especially MEDIOCRIS who went undefeated during Season 2 until the very last round and then lost their last match which denied them a Playoff spot are now benefiting from the larger amount of divisions and the closer skill levels in each of them.

Number one currently in the rankings of Division 4 goes to GO|Feed who have won their first match-up by default.

Division 5

In Division 5, the winners are HotsTough, Four and a half men, and Dark Angels who managed to take down 1UPeSport, Portugal Force, and AzmoDrunk in two 2-0’s and one 2-1, respectively. The first match-up between the free agent teams FAT #10 and FAT #6 S3 was decided in the favor of FAT #10.

We are excited to see how all the match results will develop and which teams are able to show up already that early in the season. It is still too early to make any predictions for the outcome, but the teams who won their first series are already one step closer to the playoffs.

Heroes of the Storm Open Division Cup #5

On Monday, there was the fifth cup of the Heroes of the Storm Open Division in Europe. Unfortunately, only 29 teams signed up for this cup – three of them are also playing in Heroes Lounge Season 3: mYinsanity Heroes,, and 30 Seconds to Mosh (with former Blackhearts Booty and Silver Plebs players). None of the Heroes Lounge teams advanced over the first round, but at least  could take off a map of Team Anderswelt from Germany.

Due to the low number of teams participating in the Open Division and the dominance of the better teams, mYinsanity is still in the Top 16 of the Open Division with only 10 points. That would mean that they would participate in the Open Division Playoffs in the end.

Since the Heroes of the Storm Open Division is besides other things also a good opportunity for teams to play against better teams, we want to motivate all the teams of Heroes Lounge to check the tournament out and think about participating yourself.

The next and sixth cup of the Heroes of the Storm Open Division will take place on Monday, April 10th, at 18:00 CEST.

We wish all of you good luck with your upcoming matches in Heroes Lounge. If you want to stay up-to-date with all the things happening inside Heroes Lounge, make sure to leave us a follow or subscription at Twitter, Twitch, Facebook, or YouTube.
