Last Thursday the signups for Division S opened on our website, allowing people to simply create a brand new ‘Division S’ team and sign up to participate in the first qualifier. Everyone who feels like they have a shot to compete can sign up with a team of 5 players, even if you already participate in the amateur part of Heroes Lounge. Teams have until the 31st of January to tweak their teams as the signups for the first qualifier ends on midnight on the night of 31st of January - 1st of February and the rosters will then be locked on the website for the rest of the Division S season. A maximum of two players can be changed throughout the qualifiers before a team loses its points. Signups for the other qualifier rounds will follow soon after.

The qualifier tournament will be a single elimination tournament. The winning team of each Qualifier tournament will directly be qualified for Division S. The remaining teams will get points based on their position in the playoff. The top 4 teams with the highest points at the end of the 4th qualifier will be added to the 4 winners of their region to create an EU Division S and a NA division S with 8 teams each. Resulting into 16 teams playing in the league stage Division S.
The league stage will be played in a double round robin format with 1 match a week, creating 14 weeks of league play with the top 6 teams qualifying for the playoff tournament.
Do you think you have it in you to play in Division S? Sign up here.
But what do the teams compete for? With the announcement of Division S we have launched Crowdfunding for this project.
This morning our second crowdfunding goal of $15,000 has been reached breaking all our expectations of financial support for the first season of Division S. All crowdfunded money will go directly to the players of Division S. The crowdfunding for the first season of Division S will stay open until the very first week of league play. You can still contribute to the prize pool. After the first week, a new campaign will be started for the 2nd season.
The entire prize pool will be split equally between both regions. With every participating team getting a cut of the prize money based on their position at the end of the season.
