While the sign-ups for Heroes Lounge Season 4 have been already opened, we are in week number two of the Heroes Lounge Season 3 Playoffs and it is about time to review what happened so far. As predicted by most, there were not many surprises in the first round of the playoffs.
The top eight division 1 teams of Heroes Lounge Season 3 were seeded against the top teams of all the lower divisions. In the end, all the division 1 teams advanced in the Winner Bracket, taking down their respective opponent in series of 2-0's. However, to a large extend the matches were not complete stomps, and the lower division teams achieved to show some weaknesses in the play of the division 1 teams.
However, the lower division teams are not yet out. They move on in the Lower Bracket of the Heroes Lounge Playoffs. After division 3 team Trust Issues won by default against Boosted Bonobos, Estoril eSports managed to take down division 5 runner-up Dropkick Murkys with a 2-0. At the playoff weekend, one week after the Mid Season Brawl at Dreamhack, on the 24th/25th of June, Estoril eSports will have another chance to show if they can compete with the divsion 1 teams when they have to face the loser of the match-up between FAT#5 and CoopEra Gaming. Asking Estoril's team captain Phabyum who the favorites of the playoffs are, he said: "[...] what I can say is.. I expect some upsets! Division 2 teams might surprise you!"
Until that, two other Lower Bracket games have still to be played. We Are Not Prepared of division 4 have to face Nightmare from divison 2 and division 3 team Ley Lined Seals have to go up against the division 2 team Bananas. Although we were really slothy this season when it comes to putting up the VODs of the Heroes Lounge matches on our YouTube channel, we felt the need to at least store the VODs of the playoffs matches there. Unfortunately, the VODs are not in the same quality as they were when Dawntree from the disbanded team Agents007 has cared for them in Season 2, but at least they are comfortably accessible for everyone.
