Jul 24, 2018 #Rigged

Another week, another set of rigs to have a closer look at, but before we start looking into the future, we will take a moment to appreciate what happened already in week 1! Thanks to the great work of our casters, all games featured in the last #RIGGED were available for watching and none of them did disappoint. From Memeldors Meme Machines showing that they are indeed a strong favourite to win division 1 to Snipe City and GRIEFINGS!!! duking it out over three maps in their rivalry match, every series has been great. Also shout out to FAT Bugbear who managed to get their first ever Lounge win via a reverse sweep of FAT Goblin! With that, enough about the past, let's look into the future once more!

Division 1:

Griefers on Safari vs. Digital Mousquetaires

So you might think that this game is featured because of Griefers on Safari, you couldn't be more wrong. While it is worth watching Denker's squad to eventually hold true to their name, they have not even played their first series so it's hard to guess if they will be able to hold their own and maybe even surprise people in division 1. What we do know however is that Digital Mousquetaires have not only won their first ever Lounge match, they've also done so against the veteran team of Pocket Toads (#prayfortoads everyone) and after some early struggles they've even done it pretty decisively. With four of their eight members even featuring their team tag in their Battle.Net names, it is safe to say that they are committed to their team and to this season of Heroes Lounge. If they are able to also take out the Griefers on Safari, we might have to talk about them as early dark horses for the Championship.

Division 2:

Gaming in the Rhythm vs. 25cm

For division two we are looking at the match of two teams that have already secured a win for themselves. In Gaming in the Rhythm we have a known veteran Lounge team captained by Haft who only just missed the playoffs last season. They surely want to make it this time and so far their roster changes, including adding more Mienien to the team, have worked out well, but now they have to go up against 25cm. Now they were able to impress in their very first Heroes Lounge match, defeating Die Kupschies decisively without taking any prisoners. So while week 2 might be a bit early to look at playoff seedings, when week 10 comes around, one of those teams might be looking back at this week 2 matchup and wonder what could have been.

Division 3:

Arthas did nothing wrong vs. Murder Inc.

So far we we cannot tell you if Arthas did nothing wrong because they have not played their first series yet. We can however already appreciate the continuation of Arthas-themed team names which is of course an ancient Heroes of the Storm tradition. What we also know is this: While Arthas did nothing wrong might be a new team in itself, it features some familiar faces. The elderly among us might remember a certain team called Milfits in season 4 that just stormed through the Cup, winning it without losing a single map in the tournament. Well, Hammondista, Spynk and AceDz are back and have brought some real-life friends to rule over the lower divisions with an iron fist. On the other side there is Murder Inc., a new Spanish esports club consisting of seven friends looking to leave a lasting impression on Heroes Lounge. What better way to do that than to defeat the former cup winners?

Division 4:

On Emerald Wings vs. 5 for Silver

In division 4, this is the highlight match for a very specific reason. We don't really know yet what to expect from On Emerald Wings as they are taking their sweet time with playing their first game of the season this sunday so they still got everything to prove. The same cannot be said for 5 for Silver who claim to be a "team you must not miss" and this season they seem to be on point with their assumption. Thing is, 5 for Silver have been in Heroes Lounge now for a very long time, all of which was spent in the midtable of division 5. Now in season 7 and a few roster changes later, not only have they arrived in division 4, but also beaten fan and division favourites Potatoes 007 in a very exciting three-game series. Once again, it is still early, but this might just be the season for 5 for Silver.

Division 5:

FAT Ogre vs. FAT Sloth

Granted we are only one week into the season, but as our friendly neighbourhood Latino Narsha, who has casted three FAT teams last week, can attest, those teams have left a pretty good impression already and didn't look anything like teams that have just been randomly assigned to each other. FAT Ogre, led by Lounge veteran Iluvari, managed to defeat fellow division 5 team On Ruby Wings in dominating fashion and are so far looking strong. They are now facing FAT Sloth who are very special, as they aren't really a Free Agent Team anymore. They have already competed in the last season of Heroes Lounge and decided to stick together and keep their name. In their first season they managed to win half of their games which is very respectable and are now looking to further improve, holding up the banner of the Sloth high and with pride.

Do you think we missed the most crucial matchup of the week or ignored a certain team for too long? Feel free to let us know by writing a kind DM to juliandoom on Discord and we'll consider fixing the issue immediately!
