A very Merry Riggedmas to one and all as we enter the Christmas break here in EU which means no matchmaking for 2 weeks until the 6th of January. For now round 3 is upon us and teams have until the 12th of January to play these matches.
Division 1
RIP Hots Blizzcon 2k19 vs Hard for Deckard
Our first team here are RIP Hots Blizzcon 2k19, a new roster which contains some players who have competed in Lounge in previous seasons. It has been a good start to the season for them as after winning their first match they had a rather dominant performance against last seasons Legendary Cup winners Team SnOr in round 2. Hard for Deckard won Division 1 last season and will be hoping for a repeat performance this time around, but they may be disappointed by their performance in the Mythic Championship where they fell to defeat in the second round of the losers bracket.
While writing this blog I have realised the true meaning behind the name "Hard for Deckard", it is hard for Deckard around Christmas time as he is often mistaken for Father Christmas and everyone keeps asking him for presents!
Take a look at the image below, although difficult to spot at first there are many surprising similarities between Deckard and the seasonal jolly man
Division 2
KittyKat Krusaders vs Sauna Tent
KittyKat Krusaders are still going strong in their 3rd season in lounge, they finished 5th last season in Division 2 and will be hoping that the promotion of the teams above them will create an opening for them to go for pole position this season. Their opponents Sauna Tent had a successful Season 9 where they reached the Legendary Cup, but didn't participate in the majority of Season 10. With two strong 2-0 victories to their name another impressive season may well be on the cards.
These two teams have indeed faced each other before in Season 9 when Sauna Tent won in dominant fashion with a 2-0 triumph.
Division 3
FAT N64 vs FAT Wii
In Division 3 we have a fight to see which will be the number 1 console this Christmas, which of these will children be asking Father Deckard for? Only time will tell.
Here we have two of our free agent teams for Season 11, groupings of individuals who signed up to compete in Heroes Lounge without a team.
FAT N64 started off with a loss in round 1 but bounced back to an impressive win against Oni Chan's. On the other side of this battle we have FAT Wii who have not managed to record a map win yet, but were slightly delayed in the formation of their team so have not had an excessive amount of time to practice just yet.
Division 4
Unstopable vs Team Ice Block
Fresh side Unstopable have had a mixed but promising beginning to their first season in Lounge with a 2-0 victory against former Division 3 side Diablo Immortal and a 1-2 defeat versus AFK For Cocoa which shows that they are not truly unstopable but should not be underestimated this season. Their opponent Team Ice Block haven't got off to the best of starts in their debut season losing their first two games against fellow new teams XL5 and Munchies and will be hoping for an upturn in fortune here in round 3.
Division 5
The Sops vs Red Dragon Gambling
Lounge veterans The Sops are in their 7th season in Lounge and have had a mixed start to Season 11 with a victory over The Art of Warfare who spent last season in Division 2 followed by a defeat to Killer Koalas who they lost to in their previous two encounters with them in Season 6 and Season 10. Their opponents Red Dragon Gambling achieved the honour of 10 wins from 10 last season in Division 7 and made it to the knockout stage of the Rare Cup, earning them a jump up to test their might in Division 5.
Division 6
Prosonyglasbläserrind vs Good Grief!
Fans of Sony, glass, and cows Prosonyglasbläserrind are embarking on their 3rd season in Division 6 and have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with as they push to compete in the playoffs for the first time. They have lost their first two matches but were able to win a map in each of them, showing they were not too far off the pace. Their opponents Good Grief! are in their second season in lounge and is the current home of Dr Petman himself. With two defeats in their opening matches against two types of lords The Bacon Landlords and Sloth Highlords they will be hoping to get off the mark here with a first win.
The two teams played against each other in round 10 of last season with Prosonyglasbläserrind coming out on top with a 2-0 victory.
Division 7
The Z team vs Ainsley's Lamb Special
First up we have The Z team who are made up from former members of To Shreds you say and Mismanaged. This roster has started life in lounge with a couple of well fought wins against free agent team FAT Dreamcast and experienced Lounge team INAEqualis. In need of food ideas for the holiday season? Look no further than Ainsley's Lamb Special. Channeling the spirit of Ainsley Harriott this is a new team for Season 11 who have got off to a tasty start to the season with 2-1 victories over Just the tip and Facepalm Tacticians.
